Monsters Feelings Collective
Monster feelings presents "Revolution" has been specifically created for The 2010 Allende Arts Festival. It's a multi-disciplinary performance art piece that merges dance, music and text to create the program. "Revolution" under the Artistic direction of Sebastian Mena is the collectives' most ambitious project yet. With a fluctuating cast of 11-12 Toronto based artists revolution showcases some of Toronto's finest and shining talent. The artists / interpreters of Revolution are Zion Forrest Lee, Joseph Gonzales, Mariana Medellin-Mienke, Scott Harwood, Mike Bell, Ami Spears, Paul Charbonneau, Hanna Kiel, Tanner Helmer, Erin Poole, and Steve Del Degan. Together the collective creates rich visual landscapes and epic musical orchestrations that take the audience on a journey into a world where art is at the forefront of battle lines, and imagination and creativity are their tools for defending what they love. Revolution is an exciting tale of a troop of art revolutionaries fighting for the right to be heard, seen and experienced in what they live breath and believe. This piece will move and excite audiences to understand the lengths that an artist will take to stand for and create the work necessary for the livelihood and fulfillment of existence of the artist.
About Monster feelings:
Sebastian Mena and Zion Forrest Lee in the beautiful city of Toronto formed monster Feelings collective in 2008. Monster Feelings debut was with a self tilted play created, written and directed by the two indie artists and was received with critical acclaim across the city. Sebastian a choreographer dancer and Zion a musician actor made this first full length because of a need to tell their stories of heartbreak and modern day relationships. Since its debut Monster feelings has produced 8 full-length evening performances that have showcased some of Toronto?s top performance and multi media artists. In 2009 the Monster feelings space project took form, which resembled that of Warhol?s "factory" in NY, was home to some of the most interesting and non-logical art marriages in the city. They transformed their space into art galleries, rehearsal space, and music and a performance arts stage that presented anyone with the desire to perform and have a voice. The project ended successfully, building the monster feelings the army that exists today. Monster feelings is proud to be a part of the 2010 Allende Arts festival. They have created a piece specifically for the festival under the events theme of ?revolution?. Monster feelings has merged a troop of 11 artists for this presentation and looks forward to debuting the new work at the Wychwood barns Allende Arts festival on Thursday Sept 16th.
